Bookkeeping Services for Sarasota-Area Small Businesses

SoFlo360 is a Florida-based bookkeeping firm serving Sarasota-area small businesses remotely. We're in Polk County, an hour and a half north, and the entire engagement runs online — built for the hospitality, real estate, marine, and creative businesses that drive the Sarasota and Venice economy.

How We Work

How we work with Sarasota-area businesses

Sarasota's economy is tourism, real estate, the arts, and the affluent retiree market that supports a deep bench of service businesses. For a small operator that mix means seasonal swings, a lot of 1099 and contractor work, and books that need to stay clean through a busy winter and a slow summer. We handle it remotely: bank feeds, document upload, monthly close on a calendar date. We're an hour and a half north in Polk County — close enough, but you'll run the whole engagement online.

Sarasota FAQ

Common questions from Sarasota-area business owners.

We're based in Polk County, about an hour and a half north, and the entire engagement runs online — bank feeds, cloud accounting, video calls, monthly reports. Almost everything in modern bookkeeping runs remote — bank feeds, document upload, cloud accounting, video calls. Most of our Sarasota clients have never met us in person, and video covers every conversation from onboarding through year-end.
A few reasons. One: no city-office overhead — we work remotely from Polk County, so you're not paying for a Sarasota storefront. Two: we're built specifically for smaller businesses — solo owners and small teams under a few hundred transactions a month — so we're not priced around the mid-market work larger firms structure around. Three: the engagement is a fixed monthly close, not billable hours. If you're a high-volume, multi-entity operation, a larger firm may genuinely fit you better — and we'll tell you that up front.
Yes. We set the books up to track Florida state sales tax (6%) plus the Sarasota County discretionary surtax (1%) correctly per transaction. For vacation rentals, the county tourist development tax also applies, and we track it per property. We prepare each return so it's ready to file; the filing itself is normally done by you or your CPA.
Sarasota County has a growing Hispanic community, especially across its hospitality, construction, and service businesses. We offer Spanish-friendly support — calls, emails, and document review can run in Spanish whenever that's easier for the client.
For our purposes, yes. Anywhere in Sarasota County (Sarasota, Venice, Osprey, Nokomis, Siesta Key, and the Lakewood Ranch growth area) is what we mean by 'Sarasota-area' on this page. The work is identical and the pricing is identical — there's no location markup.
That's fine. Your QuickBooks Online file is yours — we don't lock it down and we don't trap data. We deliver a clean year-end packet to whoever takes over, and switching costs you nothing on our end — just give us 30 days' notice.
